BURATTA CAPRESE SALAD
Insalata Caprese. It’s simple. You only need a few ingredients to come up with this refreshing summer dish. This salad takes just 8 to 10 minutes to put together. I’m using cherry tomatoes but any type you substitute with will taste great. Perfect as a side dish or appetizer.
What you need:
2 Cups of Heirloom tomatoes
2 Balls Buratta cheese about 8oz
Fresh Basil leaves
6 Tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
Pinch of Fleur de sel or Flaky salt
Freshly Ground Black Pepper
1 Tablespoon Pistachios (Optional)
How to make it:
Cut heirloom tomatoes in half then toss it with extra virgin olive oil and freshly ground pepper in a small bowl.
Assemble the cherry tomatoes and basil in a serving platter. Continue by adding Buratta in the center, garnish with pistachios and season with salt. Done!
Serve immediately with toasted country bread.
NOTES
If you cannot find Buratta cheese, grab fresh mozzarella.
You can also add a protein, like grilled chicken to make it a complete meal.
